Remember to be human

Remember to be human Remember to be human when you meet the other. Remember to be human when you cross, in silence, a place that is not yours. When you inhabit existence with your story. Remember to be human when you put the pieces together. Remember you are human when, with courage, you decide to stop. Not out of laziness, but to enjoy the active time of questioning. Remember to be human when you learn to play again. When you alone, facing the world, ask yourself “who are you?”. Remember to be human against imposed inequalities. Remember to be human when you desperately search for yourself in the dark. Only to find that the one you were looking for was sitting right next to you. Remember to be human: because humanity is what we have left.

5:49 Urban game (free of charge) Journey to the end of the night Pick-up point: Serpentone ship through the city, with final breakfast *registration required: you can do it here Imagine: it’s a summer dawn and teams of competitors start a race to get from one point to another in the city, passing through compulsory checkpoints and trying to escape the chasers, catchers who can eliminate you from the game. Game, fun, adrenaline, laughter, sweat and ultimate satisfaction. What is it? It is Viaggio al termine della notte (Journey to the End of the Night), an urban game organised by Gommalacca Teatro that will involve citizens of Potenza and anyone who wants to participate.

18:00 Slam Poetry (free) Humanity in verse Polo Bibliotecario – Sala Lucana with Slammals – poetry troop *registration required: you can do it here **to participate as a poet: see below The poetry slam is a theatrical device, a performance poetry competition created with the aim of spreading poetry widely and in non-purposeful places. Unlike a classic reading, in the poetry slam the audience plays a central role by actively expressing their response to the texts heard through applause and/or whistling. The mechanism of the poetry slam does not prioritise the competition, but rather to make poetry re-appropriate the elements of theatre: the body, gesture, sound and space. On the other hand, the audience, whatever audience it may be, is called upon to actively relate to the poetry and no longer to be subjected to it. REGISTRATION OPEN FOR THE FIRST 8 poets* who send an email to pugliaslam@gmail.com – Subject of the email: Potenza Poetry Slam – Name and Surname – Telephone and FB Profile

Slammals – branco poetico is a collective formed by a group of four poets with a passion for oral poetry, who initially met in Bari and then spread the slam movement throughout Apulia. It currently consists of a dozen poets who, each according to their own sensibilities, initiate or support initiatives, often on the Apulian territory, but sometimes also across borders.

Energies, stories and the body in the flux of the present Library Centre – Terrace with Rossella Capobianco *registration required: you can do it here In a time that measures value on the basis of outcome, this meeting opens up a different space: a space to be inhabited, not conquered. A dialogue with a Feng Shui expert explores the narrative power of environments, understood not as mere containers but as mirrors of interiority, places that speak of who we are, what we hold back and what we let go.

Sensitive design consultant with over thirty years of experience in the world of interior design. Her passion for harmonious spaces led her to study and deepen various disciplines, such as aromatherapy, chromotherapy, Bach flower therapy, phytotherapy, naturopathy, sensory marketing, reflexology, autogenic training and yoga. It is a scream. A whisper. An awkward attempt. A glimpse of what it is to live today for bodies in their early twenties, in a system that demands production. Disobedient bodies that demand authenticity. They do not aspire to the future, they want to stay and live as intensely as possible in a world that goes by the wayside. “Success is nothing but failure dressed up well” – Stefania Andreoli

Alessandra and Roberta Indolfi are two young choreographers, dancers and performers from Apulia. They began their artistic training with physical theatre at the age of 14, at the ‘Allegra Brigata’ association in their home town of Monopoli. As they grew up, they enriched their path by participating in workshops and laboratories throughout Apulia, devoting themselves to the study of various practices: bare-knuckle stage combat, object theatre and acrobatics. Important in their journey is the meeting with the actress, vocal performer and musician, Leonarda Saffi, with whom they train for the following years. In 2019, they begin their studies at the Civica scuola di teatro Paolo Grassi, in Milan, as dancers.

Leonardo Miniscalchi is 56 years old and started his working life at the age of 17 with an electrical installation company. 21:00 Show (against payment) I don’t need anything Polo Bibliotecario – Terrazza Teatro Libero Palermo text: Manlio Marinelli direction: Luca Mazzone with: Antonella Delli Gatti voice off: Massimiliano Lotti costumes: Roberta Barraja soundscape, photos and video: Giulia Mastellone *mandatory registration: you can do it here **single ticket with concert We think of the economy and the world of work as a series of numbers, statistics, flowcharts. Between the 1980s and the decade of this century, GDP as a share of corporate profits gained eight points, or one hundred and twenty billion euros a year. Wealth ended up in profits and not in wages, income inequality widened enormously and workers’ incomes plummeted. What humanity and what human cost lie behind the gap in a society that has defined the concept of work and value in terms of social accounting? In order to answer this question, Manlio Marinelli offers us a text that traverses Karl Marx’s thought – specifically that of his youthful Philosophical Works – on the plots of a polylogue that plumbs the alienated and silently aching humanity of contemporary society; that so-called liquid society that is instead an oppressive quagmire within which the most formidable existential butchery of the last fifty years is being played out.

A Sicilian Theatre Production Centre, the Libero of Palermo has been bringing different poetic and productive lines to the stage for fifty years: from the reinterpretation of classical dramaturgy to the exploration and dissemination of contemporary Italian, European and world dramaturgy.

22:30 Concert (for a fee) Alfredo Tortorelli Unplugged Solo Polo Bibliotecario – Terrace with Alfredo Tortorelli *mandatory registration: you can do it here **single ticket with show An unplugged guitar and voice and piano concert with the aid of voice and guitar effects and Loopstation and electronic effects. 18:00 Open Mic (free) Artistic practices and territories in transformation: which spaces can a generation open through dialogue and art? Polo Bibliotecario – Sala Lucana with Youth Associations, DAP Futuring, Institutions and Institutional Referents moderates: Rocco Mentissi *mandatory registration: you can do it here What does it mean today for a new generation to work on the cultural fabric of a territory through the language of art? What are the motivations, tools and visions that drive those who choose to invest in artistic and cultural processes rooted in places? And, above all: how can we activate a real, shared and lasting transformation? Starting from these questions, the idea of a round table aimed at those who act – or wish to act – on the Lucanian territory, using different artistic languages as levers of social, educational and political activation.

The two are catapulted into a possible doomsday, in which they imagine they have a god in front of them from whom they can finally demand answers to all the unresolved questions of their lives. The hours pass, the night draws near and the two fall asleep only to wake up and relive the same moments together, the same arguments, the same laughter, but with something different…

Nicola Lorusso and Giulio Macrì, the protagonists of Memori, are two young actors who already have several experiences in Italy in both major productions and important festivals.
